H.R. 2950

H.R. 2950: To reduce our Nation's dependence on foreign oil by investing in clean, renewable, and alternative energy resources, promoting new emerging energy technologies, developing greater efficiency, and creating a Strategic Energy Efficiency and Renewables Reserve to invest in alternative energy, and for other purposes. This bill was introduced on June 28th and referred to 13 different committees. It amends several laws, but also provides for the following grant opportunities:

• Grants for renewable fuel production research and development
• Energy sustainability and efficiency grants for institutions of higher education
• EPA demonstration grant program for local governments
• Grants for healthy school environments
• Energy security Fund and Alternative Fuel Grant Program
