US Energy Storage Competitiveness Act

S. 1321: The United States Energy Storage Competitiveness Act of 2007 is an original bill to enhance the energy security of the United States by promoting biofuels, energy efficiency, and carbon capture and storage, and for other purposes.
The bill was introduced May 7, 2007 by Jeff Bingaman and placed on the legislative calendar under General Orders, Calendar #140.
Among other actions and appropriations, this bill sets up:
  • Bioenergy research and development
  • Renewable fuel production research and development
  • Research and development of infrastructure and Transportation of biomass to local biorefineries
