Geothermal Energy R&D To Date

H.R. 2304:Introduced by Rep Jerry McNeary on May 14, 2007, reported amended by the Energy and Environment Subcommittee on June 6, 2007, and Reported as amended by Science and Technology Committee on June 13, 2007. It directs the Secretary of Energy to support programs of research, development, demonstration, and commercial application in advanced geothermal energy technologies. It also establishes or expands several programs for technology transfer and information sharing on geothermal energy. It authorizes $90 million a year from 2008-2012, and also establishes a research program coordinated with the EPA to identify potential environmental impacts of geothermal energy.
